Load up on fruits and vegetables. Countless studies have shown the anti-aging properties of fruits and vegetables, making these plant foods a must if you are going on an anti-aging diet. These nasty free radicals are responsible for the aging process, and so you need a good supply of anti-oxidants to counter this process. Incorporate foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids as well. These essential fatty acids work wonders  in terms of fighting the signs of aging. A diet rich in Omega 3 fatty acids can prevent the appearance of premature wrinkles and makes your skin supple and glowing. Tuna is an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids, as well as other seafood, and nuts too.

Drink more Water. Moreover, it is important to load up on fluids as well. Chug on water in order for your organs to function properly. Keep in mind that the skin is the biggest organ in the body and so it is important to drink plenty of water regularly to flush out toxins from the body and prevent the organs from malfunctioning. Drinking lots of water hydrates the skin and keeps it supple and fresh. Make it a habit to drink at least eight glassfuls of water to meet and keep up with the body’s fluid requirements. Drink more during hot temperatures or when engaging in increased physical activity.

A little red wine goes a long way. Have some red wine as well. Mediterraneans have long been drinking red wine as a part of their diet because of its health benefits. Red wine contains flavonoids, which contain anti-oxidant properties that help combat the symptoms of aging. Red wine also helps fight against heart diseases and other age-associated health problems. The recommended intake of red wine per day is 2 glasses for men and a glass for women.

Of course, like any other kind of diet, an anti-aging diet works best when coupled with exercise.

Aging is inevitable. While you can never stop aging, there are always ways for you to delay the aging process. By consuming foods that have anti-aging properties, you put forth your best effort at maintaining an anti-aging regimen that goes more than just skin deep.
